Victor Brevig

Software engineer

I'm Victor, a Copenhagen-based software engineer building protocol-level systems and application-layer products in blockchain and decentralized finance. My work focuses on smart contract development, incentive mechanisms, and the design of on-chain markets in trust-minimized environments.

I've been active in web3 since 2017 and building professionally since 2023. After completing my MSc, I've focused on independently designing and implementing systems such as Ethereum Execution Service and Rift, as well as open-source EVM primitives like a Verkle proof verifier, spanning decentralized automation, execution-layer coordination, and DeFi primitives including trading mechanisms, liquidity design, and on-chain trading collectives.

EXPERIENCE & PROJECTS

Verkle Verifier
Dec 2025 - Jan 2026

An open-source implementation of a Verkle proof verifier, including a TypeScript prover and a hyper-optimised Solidity verifier. The prover produces significantly smaller proofs than Merkle trees while the verifier keeps gas costs nearly competitive. The project explores cryptography, low-level EVM quirks, assembly, and advanced gas optimisation techniques.

Rift
Dec 2024 - present

A social network with native on-chain trading built directly into its core interactions. Users can create tokens, trade native and external assets within posts, and coordinate through guilds—co-owned, on-chain collectives where content revenue is shared among members, aligning social coordination, ownership, and financial incentives into self-contained on-chain economies.

Socialsub
Jun 2024 - Nov 2024

A peer-to-peer application for recurring ERC-20 payments, built on top of EES. Users can schedule time-based transfers with a simple UI, leveraging the underlying execution protocol for trustless and automated execution.

EES
Mar 2024 - Dec 2024

Ethereum Execution Service is a permissionless protocol for time-based automation of smart contract execution on the EVM. I designed and implemented the system end-to-end, including ARCADE, a consensus mechanism that ensures fair and trustless participation in a zero-trust distributed environment. The system features customizable fee and execution modules enabling flexible automation configurations.
